Hi, I’m Dave T

By trade, I am a Mechanical Engineer. For the last 15 years, I’ve managed complex projects across Canada—from heavy industrial construction to the high-tech sector. I spend my days ensuring systems and projects run smoothly.

By passion, I am a builder and an explorer.

I grew up in a small fishing community on the coast of Nova Scotia, where I learned that if you want to keep moving, you have to know how to fix what you break. That upbringing followed me West. Today, I call the foothills of the Canadian Rockies home, using the mountains as the testing ground for my builds and my endurance.

Why this site? I don’t believe in generic travel advice, or life advice for that matter. I believe in thorough preparation (mental & physical) and well thought out logistics. Whether I’m re-engineering a 1979 Honda CX500 or planning a MTB trip in Botswana, I document the technical details that others leave out.
